In addition to the services described below you can download documents and/or find small business links to gather valuable information that will help you start or grow your business.

Small Business Training

The NJSBDC at Rutgers-Camden offers a comprehensive schedule of entrepreneurial training including our very popular Entrepreneurial Certificate Program (ECP) presented in partnership with Burlington and Gloucester County Colleges. Workshops included in the ECP are:

  • Starting A Business From A-Z
  • Writing A Business Plan
  • Marketing Research and Strategies
  • Financing a Business
  • Understanding Financial Statements
  • Recording Business Transactions
  • Business Ownership, Contracts & Agreements

If you are unable to commit the time for the comprehensive ECP program, a logical alternative prior to meeting one of our consultants would be to attend one of our frequently scheduled “New Business Q&A” workshops. Please contact us if you would like to receive a printed copy of our training schedule, or you can access our complete schedule on our training page.

Many workshops are added to our schedule to meet demand for timely and topical business information. Often these programs are scheduled after our semi-annual brochure is printed. You can view this schedule on our Special Events page.

In addition to the our small business workshops, you may have the option to meet individually with one of our business consultants, and there is NO CHARGE for this confidential service which is open to new and existing businesses (BY APPOINTMENT ONLY).  In many instances attendance at SBDC Workshops will be strongly encouraged prior to meeting with a consultant.  Typical engagements might include consulting related to, but not limited to:
